A note from the author

My work begins with a simple curiosity: why do the structures we create—physical, social, and psychological—so often begin to shape us in return?

Architecture trained me to notice the structures I could see: a threshold placed a metre to the left, a courtyard that decides who meets whom. Engineering taught me how systems actually behave once the drawing is built — how a façade meets weather, maintenance, and time. Writing is where I examine the structures no one draws: belief, identity, ambition, fear, and the arrangements we make with ourselves in order to keep going.

The books and the essays come from the same habit of attention. I am less interested in conclusions than in the questions that survive a second reading.
